Riana Milne started the By the Sea Singles Networking Group in March of 2006 as a way to meet singles in the South Jersey area for herself and her single friends. She was tired of taking a night off of work, driving over an hour to a Phila. city location, paying $20 to park, and go to a party that only had 12 - 15 people....and that charged $40 a party! She thought she could provide a better, friendlier, and more economical service for singles and decided to start a group in the southern NJ area.
Also being a Psychotherapist, Riana had a lot of "singles in transition" coming to her counseling center for help and coaching on "how to get back out there to date" after a long marriage, negative divorce, or death of a beloved partner. She wanted to create a "safe and friendly environment" for singles to meet other singles for friendship, and possible dating. Also, always being the avid businesswoman and being involved with many networking groups, Riana thought singles should help promote singles in business and support each other by trying their businesses first. So a business-networking element has always been an important part of the group, and promoting your business and handing out cards is encouraged.
At Riana's 6th Singles Event, which was held to celebrate her newly released book, Watch Me! The Bold, New Motivational Attitude for Personal Success; a motivational blueprint to reach success in all life areas for those going through hard times; Riana met her fiance, Jim Rhoads. So her 6th Singles Event worked for her! Jim decided what Riana was doing was such a good service for singles in the area, that he joins her as "co-host" and often enlights with a "man's point of view." So together, they have been motivating and encouraging singles to meet for close to 4 years.
After taking training to be a Certified Singles Coach to add to her Pscyhotherapist license and Counseling experience; and after three years of hosting just "social events" Riana saw that many of the singles still seemed "stuck" and needed more intensive education regarding becoming their "best selves" and taking the time to really evaluate what type of partner they wanted at this stage of life.
Thus, in October 2009, Riana started the Coaching/Social Events for Serious Minded Singles. This Educational Coaching series is based on a year of training from The Relationship Coaching Institute, of which you will see many tips from the books, articles, newletters, audios and educational series on this site! Also, being a former Model and Talent Agent and School owner (3 time International Award winning Model & Talent School), Riana does Individualized Make-overs and wardrobe advice - boot camp style!
Since starting this Singles Coaching model, many of the classmates have met for dating, and are now in serious dating relationships! Each individual is starting to shine - becoming more confident, focused on individual change for inner and outer beauty, and excited for their futures. After the hour and a half of education, the members eat, drink and socialize - then they usually go out dancing at a popular upscale restaurant that is noted for "singles nights" on Wednesday. Jimmy and Riana lead the dancing, and the group members really have a chance to unwind, and have fun getting to know each other.
As of February 2010, we are having the 5th SinglesCoaching class, and a brand new Singles Coaching Group is starting soon! Although the classes tend to build on each other with a succession of handouts and worksheets, you may join at any time.
