How to Apply or Donate to – The Riana Milne Scholarship Fund for the Performing Arts

I personally understand how critical the Performing Arts were to my life, my two daughter’s lives, and to the many students at Riana’s Model & Talent School in Erie, PA and in New York City. Because creative people often choose careers and training outside of the typical college program, there are not many financial support systems to get the professional training they need to succeed.

This fund is being established with the printing of this book. Each book sold will have $1 donated to the general scholarship fund. However, any school purchasing “Watch Me!” as a text book from By the Sea Books – Publishing Company, will have their own $1 donated to this fund for a scholarship award to their particular school. This book teaches profound life skills needed for success; not only for those interested in the arts, but for all adolescents who have a dream.

Application for this Scholarship will begin January 1, 2007, and every January there after. Awards will be chosen by May 1st of each year there-after; and presented at Graduation. Seniors who are planning to graduate, who have a 3.5 GPA or better, may apply. Since both my daughters graduated with a GPA over 3.5, I am setting this high of an academic standard to reward those creative individuals who deserve a scholarship based on educational excellence and their desire and dedication in developing their talent; regardless of race, sex, or financial need. (To see more on my duaghters accomplishments in the Arts, please go to www.AlexiPanos.com (for Alexi's Hosting Reel and Talent resume), and www.sonaphotography.com (For Stephana's Photography site).

You may apply for a scholarship for the following professions: modeling, singing, acting (stage, film, or television), dancing, broadcasting (radio or TV), and writing (music, poetry, other), or photography.

Please type an essay, of up to 1000 words, 12-pt Times-Roman font; regarding why you deserve and desire a scholarship, and exactly where you would put the funds awarded. Your essay should include the funds needed for your exact school, program, or service you need to become a professional; for example - a model and talent school, home or fashion design school, a production studio for a demo tape, photographer for professional models or actors head shot or portfolio shots or photography school, to hire a singing coach, or other professional services needed to launch your Creative Arts Career.

Training schools you hope to attend could include – a licensed model, talent, acting, or dance school; a broadcast communications school, photography or home/fashion design school, or music production/singing school.

Along with your essay, send a professional talent resume, your most recent report card and proof of your GPA, and any support materials to prove your talent – photographs, writing samples, demo singing or music production tape, sketches of fashion or home design, or a DVD of your acting performance.

Applications will be accepted from January 1st through April 1st – midnight. Include name, address, phone number, and personal email address; as well as your High School's name, address, phone, and a contact person who is a Counselor or your Advisor’s name.
